Before You Buy an Oben Rorr (or Any EV Bike): 15-Point Buyer's Checklist

Booking & payment

1. Pay only the official booking amount through the company's portal. Treat any “pay extra for priority delivery” offer with suspicion — get it on company letterhead with a refund clause. 2. Never pay the full price months in advance. Keep a meaningful balance until you have inspected and accepted the vehicle. 3. Get every payment receipted with the dealer's GSTIN, even if paid in cash. 4. Get the promised delivery date in writing (email is fine), and what happens if it's missed.

Documents & insurance

5. When you share Aadhaar/PAN, send an email stating they may be used only for invoice and registration after your approval. 6. Ask for the insurance quote before it's issued. On an EV, ask specifically for Return to Invoice and battery protection cover; refuse add-ons you don't need. 7. Ask when registration will be filed. Request that it be filed only after your physical inspection.

Delivery day

8. Ask for the signed PDI checklist before you sign anything. No sheet, no signature. 9. Inspect in daylight. Check for noise, vibration, and that every riding mode works. 10. Take a real test ride on the actual bike you're buying — including a short climb and a mode change. 11. If you're given any riding restriction (speed limit, mode, minimum charge), ask for it in writing and why. 12. Photograph the odometer, battery % and chassis number at handover.

After delivery

13. Report any fault in writing the same day, with video. Phone calls leave no record. 14. Get a job card for every service visit, and a copy when you collect the vehicle. 15. Don't hand over a defective vehicle without a written acknowledgement of the complaint and its condition.
